1997 Michael Jordan autographed trading card attracts $95,000 bid

NEW YORK: A trading card originally from 1997 signed by NBA legend Michael Jordan has been sold for a whopping $95000 by PWCC, the American leader in the trading card investment marketplace based out of Oregon.

TMZ Sports reports that while the identity of the buyer isn’t yet known, the card is the Upper Deck Jordan All-Star game jersey card and only 23 of its kind exist till date, making it amongst the rarest sports memorabilia available in the USA.

The same card, given an 8 Near Mint condition rating by Beckett Grading Services, was sold back in 2014 for $45,998, already making it one of the highest-selling basketball cards in history.

It is believed to be the third highest selling basketball trading card of all time after the George Mikan rookie card ($403,000) and the Pete Maravich rookie card ($130,000).
