Over 4,000 participants have signed up for the inaugural Fast&Up Mumbai Walkathon, to be held in Mumbai on March 16.
The event features three categories – 10km Pro Walk, 5km Family Walk and 3km Fun Walk.
At Fast&Up, we are committed to empowering individuals to lead active and healthy lifestyles,” said Shilpa Khanna Thakkar, CFO of Fast&Up. “Partnering with JustWalkIndia for the Fast&Up Mumbai Walkathon aligns perfectly with our mission to fuel movement and well-being. Walking is a simple yet impactful way to stay fit, and we are thrilled to support an initiative that encourages people to take that first step towards better health.”
John Gloster, head physiotherapist of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, said: “Walking remains the simplest and yet the ultimate solution, addressing nearly every modern-day health problem and this event is aimed at popularising walking for fitness, community spirit and a healthier lifestyle.”
In this inaugural edition, women have outnumbered men in registrations across all three categories.
Mansi Negi, national athlete & 20KM walking medalist for India, said: “It is interesting to note women have outnumbered men in registrations across the three categories. It is possibly a reflection that women are becoming increasingly health conscious, which is great for the community and the country on the whole.”
