INDIA’S PROFESSIONAL golf league, ‘72 The League’, has introduced the Gentleman’s Jacket as its symbol of excellence, with both winners and franchise owners set to receive the classic blazer, a mark of discipline, elegance and precision, according to a media release.
The exclusive Gentleman’s Jacket has been designed by renowned fashion duo Shantnu & Nikhil, who have come on board as the league’s official couture partners. Created specifically for the owners of the six city-based franchises and the championship-winning team, the jacket reinterprets the classic navy sports blazer through the designers’ signature balance of structure and fluidity. Tailored in a clean, single-breasted silhouette, it is detailed with crisp white piping along the lapel, pockets and hem, evoking the heritage of traditional sporting attire.
A bespoke ‘72’ insignia badge adorns the pocket, complemented by Shantnu & Nikhil’s signature tape detailing that adds a subtle athletic edge. The interior features a customised lining illustrated with golfers, offering a refined tribute to the rhythm and spirit of the game.
The league will feature six city-based franchises, each made up of 10 professional players selected through a transparent auction process. Top golfers from the PGTI circuit are set to compete. Launched in partnership with Game of Life Sports (GOLS), the league will begin on 21 February, with the finals scheduled for 6 March. The inaugural season will be staged across three of Delhi NCR’s most prestigious courses: Classic Golf & Country Club, Jaypee Greens and Qutab Golf Course.
