Kerala Blasters associates with Socios as fan token partner

KOCHI: Hero Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters FC Friday announced its association with fan influence & rewards app Socios as their Official Fan Token Partner in a multi-year partnership.

Kerala Blasters is the first Indian football club to associate with Socios. It joins global football giants FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Atlético Madrid and the national teams of Argentina and Portugal, among others in teaming up with the blockchain-enabled platform that offers fan tokens to the supporters and gives them a chance to influence decisions of their favorite teams.

When a fan owns tokens, they can choose to vote on different decisions that are taken by the club, which in turn makes them feel part of the club. The fans can also have access to VIP experiences, trade the digital tokens to other Socios users, participate in trivia challenges and more.

As part of the association, the Socios logo will be placed in the undercollar of all match and training jerseys.

“With this partnership, we are proud to join an elusive list of clubs within the Socios network. This only reiterates our ambition to take KBFC global. With Socios, we look forward to enhancing our fan experience and creating something very unique to engage our enthusiastic supporters. I thoroughly look forward to a long and fruitful association together,’ said Nikhil Bhardwaj, director, Kerala Blasters FC.

More than 40 major sporting organizations have partnered with Socios.com to launch Fan Tokens, including a number of leading teams from F1, esports and cricket.

Sleeve sponsor for ISL 2021-22
The club announced its association with “meme coin” cryptocurrency Floki as its sleeve sponsor for the upcoming ISL season.

The partnership forms a part of a global promotion that sees Floki being heavily advertised around the world. As a part of its association with Kerala Blasters, the Floki logo will find its place on the Right Sleeve of Kerala Blasters FC’s jersey for the upcoming ISL season.

“We are proud to sign a partnership with Floki, showing we are leading the way in innovative partnerships. This helps to keep the club up with the ever-happening changes in the world. We look forward to a great association together,’ said Bhardwaj.

“Floki and football go hand in hand with each other because this is the people’s cryptocurrency. Floki is a “movement” and aims to be the most known and most used cryptocurrency in the world. The Blasters are a huge club and we are honored to be partnering with them,” said spokesperson of Floki.

Floki is also known for its good cause work and has a vision to build a school in every continent and eventually in every underdeveloped nation of the world. To kickstart this vision, Floki has formed a strategic partnership with Pencils of Promise which is a non-profit organisation that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world. They have built 575 classroom blocks that are currently serving over 115,000 students in various nations of the world.

This partnership will further include the brand being displayed on the LED at all home matches along with other fan focused promotional assets.
