PSL to resume June 1, outside agency to manage COVID SOPs

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board announced at the weekend that the remaining 20 remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League, which was suspended due to a number of COVID-19 cases, would be played from June 1 through to the finals on June 20.

The PCB’s board of governors (BoG) had met through a virtual conference call on Saturday to deliberate on the matter.

The BoG was informed that as part of the strategy to ensure PSL 6 resumed and completed in a safe and secure environment, the PCB was in final stages of appointing a globally-recognised safety management company that specialises in providing COVID-safe technology solutions, bio-secure monitoring & management, as well as response and reaction to positive tests.

At the meeting, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani briefed the BoG on matters relating to the International Cricket Council as well as this year’s ICC T20 World Cup, which India is scheduled to host in October.
