MUMBAI: As registrations continue for the world’s biggest virtual running festival, 100 Days of Running (HDOR), the promoters Monday announced leading American running shoe brand Brooks as official ‘Running Partner’ for the event.
This partnership marks Brooks Running’s foray into the Indian running eco-system. Crafted with technology for comfort and efficiency, Brook’s motto to ensure #RunHappy echoes in HDOR’s philosophy of bringing fitness to your doorstep!
As part of the association, Brooks Running India will activate their influencer circle to motivate runners to experience the fervor of running. In addition to this, Brooks Running India will run a series of contests and challenges for participants to touch and feel world-class running accessories and merchandise. Furthermore, as part of an ongoing campaign, the brand is re-inventing its “story-telling” by sharing inspirational journeys of runners from across the country, to inspire others.
Commenting on the association, Kartik Shah, Country head at Brooks Running India, said: “Running is a well-adopted fitness activity in India and 100 Days of Running is a perfect opportunity for us to establish our position in the Indian market. Being able to engage with the running community at an opportune time and to be a part of their fitness journey from the start will be an exciting journey for us as well.”
Founded by running enthusiasts Tanvir Kazmi and Mayank Gupta in 2015, and now in its 7th edition, 100 days of Running lays claim to having strongly cemented themselves as thought leaders in the world of virtual events. The 2020 edition of the event had over 15,000 participants.
“HDOR is privileged to have on-board Brooks Running India as our Running Partner. We are confident they will complement our efforts to get people running and we could not have imagined a better Partner,” said Chandan Khanna, co-founder, HDOR.
He further added: “When we started the concept of virtual running in 2015 in India, it was challenging however slowly the running fraternity acknowledged our vision and believed in the uniqueness of the concept. Today, the pandemic has redefined and accelerated Virtual Running Experience. With exciting new offerings this year, we are confident to see increased participation from around the world over and be a part of the HDOR family.”
“India is an emerging market for participative sport. Inspite of the pandemic creating a dent in the mass participative ecosystem, an established platform like HDOR will offer a unique, a larger and longer opportunity for global brands like Brooks to engage with the active lifestyle fraternity,” said, Vipin Nambiar, brand consultant, HDOR.
Challenging and inspiring a lifestyle change, an individual is expected to run (even walk) a minimum of 2km a day for 100 Days. As it’s a virtual challenge, participants can perform this activity at their own convenient time and place. Along with a running challenge, the event also gives participants an opportunity to create a positive impact and bring about a social change as every run contributes to charity.
With 10,000+ registrations already on board for the 2021 edition, this flagship event is scheduled to kick off on 1st May.
