MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has issued an official status update on the the injury status of various India players who are or were to take part in the upcoming series against Australia that involves three T20Is, three ODIs and four Test matches.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee met on Sunday to pick certain replacements after receiving injury reports and updates from the BCCI Medical Team.
The BCCI has confirmed the following:
Paternity leave to Virat Kohli after the first Test in Adelaide.
Rohit Sharma will be resting during the ODIs, T20s in Australia and has been included in India’s Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The selection committee has added Sanju Samson as an additional wicket-keeper to India’s ODI squad.
Ishant Sharma, who is undergoing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy, will be added to India’s Test squad once he fully recovers and gains match fitness.
Varun Chakravarty has been ruled out of the T20I series owing to a shoulder injury. T Natarajan is chosen as a replacement.
A call on Wriddhiman Saha’s availability who sustained injuries to both his hamstrings during IPL game, will be taken later.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti will not be able to travel to Australia as he is still working with the medical team on his bowling workload management.
