MUMBAI: During BCCI’s apex council, it was decided during its meeting via teleconference on Saturday evening, that Ahmedabad or Calcutta will host the Day-Night Test against England.
The BCCI is determined to host the series versus England in India.
“Ahmedabad is our first choice since Eden Gardens has already hosted the first-ever Day-Night Test in India, against Bangladesh last November. Calcutta will come into consideration only if it cannot be held in Ahmedabad because of the pandemic or any other reason,” a source told The Telegraph.
Board president Sourav Ganguly, who joined the meeting from Kolkata, had said earlier that they were considering hosting three Tests in Mumbai since the city has three venues – Wankhede, Brabourne and Navi Mumbai.
Regarding the domestic season, the BCCI have decided to start the domestic season from January 1st followed by the women’s tournament.
India and Australia are set to have 4 Test matches and the Indian team is expected to fly to Australia from UAE post the IPL.
