PORT OF SPAIN: An inspired St Lucia Zouks skittled perennial finalists Guyana Amazon Warriors to book its place in the finals of the Hero Caribbean Premier League against Trinbago Knight Riders.
St Lucia Zouks blazed to victory in just 27 balls to complete one of the most dominant performances in T20 history. In doing so they booked their place against the Trinbago Knight Riders in Thursday’s final, the first in the St Lucia franchise’s history.
Trinbago Knight Riders, meanwhile, beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 9 wickets and leave themselves one win away from completing the first perfect season in CPL history.
Interestingly, both the teams contesting Thursday’s final have Indian ownership. While Trinbago Knight Riders is owned by Knight Rider Sports Pvt Ltd (KRSPL), which is also the promoter company of Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, St Lucia Zouks has KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited, the consortium that owns IPL team Kings XI Punjab, as its parent.
