ITANAGAR: Taking a leaf out of In a major step towards promoting badminton in Arunachal Pradesh, the Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) has decided to introduce a badminton league in the state soon.
“The Arunachal badminton league will be introduced after getting approval from the Badminton Association of India,” local media quoted ASBA president Ratu Techi as having said during the 6th annual general meeting held here on Saturday.
Acknowledging the initiatives of all the ASBA affiliated units for promotion of badminton in their respective districts, the ASBA president said a foreign coach would be hired to train the young players.
The state has 22 affiliated district badminton associations, including Capital Complex and the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy.
