MUMBAI: Three years after Mahendra Singh Dhoni ended his high-profile endorsement deal of 11 years with US food and beverage giant Pepsico, the cricket superstar has signed up with rival Coca-Cola as the Indian face of its just-launched sports drink Powerade.
“MS Dhoni has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Coca-Cola’s Powerade. He has over 30 brand associations presently,” Arun Pandey, chairman of Dhoni’s sports marketing and talent management company Rhiti Sports confirmed to Economic Times.
ET, quoting sources with knowledge of the deal, put the value of the three-year association at Rs 150 million.
Coca-Cola has planned a multimedia campaign featuring Dhoni and Powerade, which competes directly with PepsiCo’s Gatorade, the business daily further reported.
