MUMBAI: Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians will have global mobile brand Samsung as its principal sponsor once again, as both have agreed to a renewed deal worth Rs 750 million till 2021, Economic Times reports.
It is a 10% rise from the previous agreement, which saw Samsung pay approximately Rs 450 million over a period of two years,the business daily reports.
MI has retained other sponsors as well such as Dheeraj Realty, Performix and Usha. It is believed that the franchise will sign deals with an additional 2-3 sponsors within the next 10 days.
The franchise is also banking on building its branding exercise with Netflix India’s documentary on them, which is scheduled for a 1 March release. Its trailer has already been launched, which talks about the team’s journey and action behind-the-scenes during the 2018 season.
