ZURICH: Olympic Channel, the official multimedia platform service of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has extended its reach by agreeing to a digital partnership deal with Amazon Fire TV.
Co-incidentally, the development comes a year after the successful 2018 Winter Olympic Games in North Korea and the event’s anniversary is being celebrated with ‘Rewind: PyeongChang 2018’, a special collection of programming.
The Olympic channel library has over 400 episodes of original programming and content series. It is a 24/7 live streaming channel, expected to cover the Tokyo 2020 Games widely.
Olympic Channel GM Mark Parkman said: “The launch of the Olympic Channel on Amazon Fire TV demonstrates our commitment to expanding our distribution to wherever our viewers are watching content. Through distribution on connected TV devices and streaming media players, fans have even more options to discover, engage and be inspired by their favorite sports and athletes.”
