BENGALURU: American computer gaming firm NVIDIA has revealed its plans to widen its footprint in India by adding 100 gaming cafes across the country by the end of the year, Economic Times reports.
100 gaming cafes and less than 1000 non-exclusive cafes are already functioning in the country. The company is confident of the growth of India’s online gaming community, noticing an increase in the use of gaming hardware and computers in the past few years.
NVIDIA, which also co-organised the 14th edition of Gamer Connect in Bengaluru last month, said that it will grow the digital gaming community in the country courtesy a three-pronged approach. It will seek collaborations to set up gaming cafes and for their marketing strategies.
The company’s head of consumer marketing in South Asia, Vamsi Krishna commented that India has nearly 16 million people who play video games on PCs and consoles and 1.2 million of them have a good hardware for playing on digital platforms. Majority of this community lies in the age group of 18-24.
“We are reaching out to large, medium and small investors we are training them in terms of what kind of return on investment they can expect,” Krishna told ET.
