MIAMI: Ultimate Gamer, the first open multi-game e-sports festival built to test gamers in different genres, announced Tuesday the launch of ticket sales and player registrations for the 9-10 March 2019 event. It is the first-of-its-kind gaming festival and a celebration for the entire gaming community that will crown one player the ‘Best Gamer in the World.’
The Ultimate Gamer features eSports competitions within five gaming disciplines —first-person shooter, action, fighter, real-time strategy and battle royale. This event boasts a number of top-tier partners including Black Stage Productions and ShowGlobe Entertainment, while Blizzard, Capcom and Valve are currently in talks to secure the most challenging and representative games that will identify the world’s most well-rounded e-athlete.
More than 1,000 players and over 10,000 spectators are expected for the event. The arena features over 300 PCs and consoles to enable 12 hours a day of tournament-style action. First place receives a $250,000 prize, second $100,000 and third $50,000. The event will be held in Miami at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center. The multi-faceted event includes a cosplay competition, gourmet food options, interactive experiences and live music. Additionally, Ultimate Gamer will feature a Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) Local Area Network (LAN) party.
“We’re thrilled to open up tickets and registration for our first Ultimate Gamer event which will serve as a launching point in the industry,” ShowGlobe Entertainment President Steve Suarez said.
“This is the first event of its kind. It’s a festival of gaming, music, amazing food and entertainment. We welcome players of all skill levels to Miami for a fun multi-sensory experience so we can truly determine the best e-sports player in the world.”
The Ultimate Gamer event series are intended to blend together physical real-world gatherings with the company’s own software. The company adjusts to the latest fast-changing gaming trends and will change its events dynamically in order to stay relevant.
