LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Wednesday that HBL, the largest bank in the country will continue to be the title sponsor of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 competition till 2021.
HBL initially partnered with PSL for the first three years of the tournament. During this period, the PSL went on to become the single largest and most loved sporting platform in Pakistan.
The new deal will see a wide array of exciting activations and promotions around the tournament.
Commenting on the development, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani believes that that the renewal of the agreement is proof of a leading brand like HBL’s commitment, resolve and belief in PSL and in Pakistan cricket.
“I am delighted to confirm that HBL will continue to partner with us for the Pakistan Super League,” Mani said.
“We have partnered for a phenomenal journey so far and we hope to work closely with HBL on the tournament, various activations and an unprecedented marketing campaign.”
“PSL has come a long way and HBL is proud to have partnered with a world class league,” HBL President and CEO Muhammad Aurangzeb said.
“As we gear up for the next three exciting years of ‘HBL PSL’, we look forward to providing more opportunities to the young cricketers, to enable their dreams of becoming international cricket stars”.
Recently, the PCB announced that HBL will be paying a record 1.5 billion PKR (Pakistani rupees) or $11.6 million for the next three years, a 33% jump from the previous value of 1 billion PKR ($7.45 million) as per the new agreement.
The development also comes just a week prior to the PSL Player Draft for Season 4 that will take place on 20 November in Islamabad.
