MADRID: Spain’s basketball legend Pau Gasol, who has gained global popularity with his exploits in the NBA, will be endorsing the fall and winter collection of one of USA’s leading fashion brands, Tommy Hilfiger.
According to a Maquina do Esporte report, Gasol’s association will be for all Tommy Hilfiger events throughout the current NBA season initially. He has represented San Antonio Spurs since the 2016-17 season and has racked up more than 20,000 points in a glittering career in the United States, having previously been a part of Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers’ dominant teams in the 2000s.
This is yet another attempt by Tommy Hilfiger to enhance its appeal to its global young fanbase and sport is proving to be one of the best ways of fan engagement. The brand had earlier this year named 5-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton as its global ambassador as well.
“The endurance, tireless passion and dedication of these athletes really talk to the new generation of fans of the brand,” Tommy Hilfiger, the owner of the brand was quoted as saying to the newspaper.
