Aston Villa switches on Instagram TV

LONDON: Aston Villa is the first Premier League club to have partnered with Instagram TV, the new video feature of the social media application.

The club’s first initiative will be showcasing their pre-season activities and kit launch. 

In order to engage fans further, the club has called on their supporters to send in their videos which could be shared such as scoring a goal in the new Villa kit, travelling to an away game or any matchday experience. 

The club also announced its new partnerships for the 2018-19 season. Sport apparel brand Fanatics is its official kit manufacturer while British men’s designer wear retailer Luke 1977 is its technical partner.

Online betting company 32Red is principal sponsor. 

Luke Organ, the club’s chief commercial officer, said: “We’ve been very proud to pioneer the three-way technical partnership alongside Luke 1977 and Fanatics, which has helped us increase the creative input opportunities with the new kits.

“We’ve essentially taken back control of the look and feel and listened strongly to fan sentiment – and we’re delighted with the finished products.

“The three-way technical partnership is a groundbreaking move within sport, it’s a true collaboration and has helped us deliver the very best product for our fans as we draw on the huge and very distinctive strengths of Luke 1977 and Fanatics.”
