NEW YORK: Nike, the world’s leading sports retailer, on Tuesday named Noel Kinder as the company’s new vice president and chief sustainability officer (CSO) from September 5 this year.
Kinder has worked with Nike for nearly two decades, with his previous role being that of vice president in Sustainable Manufacturing and Sourcing.
Prior to that, he was in Vietnam serving as the company’s general manager in manufacturing operations. His experience in leadership positions in strategic planning, finance as well as Nike’s footwear and apparel decisions, have worked in his favour.
He will be reporting directly to Eric Sprunk, Nike’s CEO and Tom Clarke, president of Advanced Innovation, leading the Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability & Governance Committee of Nike’s board of directors.
Kinder will take over Hannah Jones, who has been Nike’s CSO for 14 years. She will now become the President of Nike Valiant Labs, the Company’s in-house new business model incubator which was previously known as the Nike Innovation Accelerator.
“We have made incredible progress over the last decade, and I’m excited to see Noel build on the leadership and change Hannah has helped define,” said Mark Parker, Nike Chairman, President and CEO.
