MUMBAI: Hindi film director director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is soon set to make a film based on the sport of kabaddi.
Tiwari, who directed the hit movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ is currently in the process of writing the script for the movie and she will also help the project as the director.
As reported by Sportswallah, the movie will be produced by Fox Star Studios.
Confirming the news that she will indeed be directing the new movie, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, said in a statement, “My quest for telling stories of life from the heart found a partner in like-minded Rucha and her team from Fox Star Studios. I am totally thrilled to direct another story which will be close to my heart.”
In the past few years, biographical movies like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘MS Dhoni: An Untold Story’ and all time blockbuster ‘Dangal’ have hit the theatres.
On a related note, A lister Ranveer Singh’s film titled ”83′, in which he plays the role of cricketer Kapil Dev, will release on April 5, 2019, reports PTI.
Besides these two films, one around badminton is also reportedly in the pipeline.
