The Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) Wednesday announced Patanjali as the title sponsor for its inaugural season.
UPL will be held from 15th to 22nd September at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.
Patanjali has previously sponsored various sports events, including kabaddi tournaments and wrestling championships.
Speaking about the association, Ram Bharat, chief managing director, Patanjali, said, “We see this association as an opportunity to support young and emerging talent in Uttarakhand and to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle through the medium of sports.”
Mahim Verma, secretary of the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand, opined: “We are thrilled to have Patanjali as our title sponsor for UPL 2024. Their support is a boost for all of us, and it reflects their commitment to the people of Uttarakhand and to the sport of cricket. Patanjali’s backing will undoubtedly give the tournament a major boost and help in developing future cricket stars from the region. We look forward to an exciting season ahead.”
UPL 2024 will feature five men’s teams and three women’s teams. The matches will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Ten 2 SD, Sony Sports Ten 2 HD, and FanCode.
In a special initiative, entry to all matches will be free of cost. UPL on Sunday also announced that top Indian artist B Praak will be performing at the opening ceremony on 15th September.
