Serie A side Inter Milan has announced a four-year agreement with online betting and casino company Betsson to be its main sponsor.
This four-year agreement represents the largest shirt sponsorship deal in Inter’s history, with reports suggesting the partnership with Betsson could earn
the Serie A champions and last year’s UEFA Champions League finalists at least €30 million per season.
The betting company, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, will feature the logo of its surrogate brand “Betsson Sport infotainment” on Inter’s jerseys as a way to circumvent Italy’s rules on betting advertising.
This is a practice commonly seen in India wherein illegal offshore betting websites set up surrogate brands to sponsor different sports leagues or teams.

Betsson’s sponsorship portfolio extends globally, with a strong presence in various sports and football clubs. In Latin America – Betsson is the main sponsor of Boca Juniors, Racing Club de Avellaneda and Atlético Nacional. In Italy, Betsson Sport already has ongoing partnerships with clubs such as SSC Napoli, Torino FC, as well as Italian football legend Francesco Totti as ambassador.
