Haridwar Elmas lift UPL 2025 title in thrilling finale

HARIDWAR ELMAS were crowned champions of the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) 2025 after a nail-biting finish, chasing down 149 with four balls to spare at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun on Sunday.

After winning the toss, Haridwar elected to bowl first and restricted Nainital Tigers to 148/6. The chase began shakily, but skipper Kunal Chandela turned the tide with a blistering 33 off 19 balls, igniting a spirited comeback. Uzair Malik added crucial late runs with an unbeaten 22 from 13 deliveries, featuring two powerful sixes, while Siddharth Gupta sealed the victory in style with 15 not out off just five balls, including two sixes in the final over.

The triumph marked Haridwar Elmas’ first-ever UPL title, while Tehri Queens clinched the women’s championship.

Chandela completed a stellar tournament, claiming both the Best Batter and Player of the Tournament awards. Jagmohan Nagarkoti of Rishikesh Falcons earned the Best Bowler accolade, and 20-year-old Sanskar Rawat from Dehradun Warriors was named the Emerging Player of the competition.
