FIP SILVER RADHA TMT INDIAN OPEN concluded in Hyderabad with a clean sweep for Spain, as LucÃa Manquillo Alarza and LucÃa Luján RodrÃguez claimed the women’s title, while G. Figuerola Santiago and R. Belmont Pastor triumphed in the men’s category at the KPGBA courts.
In the women’s final, the Spanish top seeds Alarza and RodrÃguez displayed remarkable grit to overcome second seeds M. Koek and V. Kurz in a gripping three-set encounter. After securing the opening set 6-3, the Spaniards lost rhythm in the second, allowing their opponents to bounce back 6-4. However, Alarza and RodrÃguez regrouped superbly in the decider, combining tactical precision with sharp net play to seal the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 and lift the trophy.
The men’s final also went Spain’s way, as Santiago and Pastor outplayed compatriots M. Melero Bernal and N. Zurita in straight sets. The champions showcased outstanding coordination and composed defence, clinching the opener 6-3 before edging a tense second-set tiebreaker 7-5 to secure the title.
Earlier in the semifinals, Alarza and RodrÃguez had eased past India’s S. Dandu and P. Manikonda with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win, while Koek and Kurz advanced after a retirement from Thailand’s B. Luttikhuis and J. Hemmes. In the men’s draw, Santiago and Pastor dispatched Argentina’s M. Conte Gonzalez and M. Cabrera 6-1, 6-3, as Bernal and Zurita defeated Great Britain’s E.
