HYDERABAD has replaced Ahmedabad on Lionel Messi’s ‘GOAT India Tour 2025’ itinerary, with the Argentina legend set to make a stop in the city during his much-anticipated visit.
Messi’s tour begins on 13 December in Kolkata. He was originally due to travel to Ahmedabad for a sponsor-driven engagement, but the activity has now been shifted to Mumbai. Hyderabad, instead, will host a full-scale event featuring fan interactions and appearances alongside celebrities.
“It’s happening in Hyderabad. The activity that was scheduled in Ahmedabad is now happening in Mumbai,” organiser Satadru Dutta told The Indian Express.
The schedule adjustment comes after the cancellation of Argentina’s proposed friendly in Kochi, which had been planned for 17 November. Under the revised plan, Messi will arrive in Kolkata on 13 December, travel to Hyderabad later the same evening, move on to Mumbai on 14 December and conclude his tour in New Delhi on 15 December. He had initially been set to fly to Ahmedabad on the evening of 13 December.
Dutta also confirmed that The GOAT Cup, a seven-a-side soft-touch celebratory match featuring celebrities will now take place in Hyderabad in addition to Kolkata and Mumbai. Ticket demand has reportedly been overwhelmingly strong across all venues.
