Held from 24 to 26 January at the Conscient Sports Arena in Gurugram, the tournament underlined the growing interest and enthusiasm for football among India’s young sporting community.
Young athletes travelled from across Delhi NCR, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana, with participants representing cities such as New Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad. The tournament was attended by Andrés Muntaner Borrajo, Director – Camps and Clinics at the Real Madrid Foundation, reinforcing the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to education through football in India and globally, according to the media release.
The competition featured well-structured matches across several age groups, including Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 (Boys), along with Under-12 and Under-15 (Girls). Matches were conducted in line with the Real Madrid Foundation’s internationally recognised training methodology, with a strong focus on technical development and the promotion of core sporting values such as discipline, respect and teamwork. Beyond on-field action, the program included workshops for parents on nutrition and physical conditioning, as well as value-based clinics led by Real Madrid Foundation coaches.
Conscient Sports director Kriti Jain Gupta said, “We are extremely proud to host the second edition of the Conscient Sports Real Madrid Foundation India Challenge. This event goes beyond competition–it represents our commitment to nurturing young talent, building a strong sporting culture, and creating meaningful experiences for families and communities. Since entering into our partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation, we have trained thousands of young footballers across India. We envision the Conscient Sports Real Madrid Foundation India Challenge becoming a landmark annual event on India’s youth sports calendar.”
Borrajo added, “After spending time across multiple cities with the Conscient Sports-Real Madrid Foundation football programs, it was remarkable to see everything come together at our home ground in Gurgaon. Beyond the competition, the joy of families coming together, children making new friends, and everyone sharing the game both on and off the field made these three days an exceptional experience and a true celebration of football and friendship.”
