Mumbai Indians and Skechers Thursday unveiled the 2024 IPL season’s jersey designed by the designer Monisha Jaising.
Per an official release, “The jersey, representing the unbreakable bond between the team and its passionate fanbase paltan, showcases Mumbai Indians’ pride and a design that embodies the spirit of Mumbai.”
Full collection featuring the official men’s match jersey 2024, the official men’s replica jersey 2024, among a wide range is available on MI Shop.
Drawing inspiration from the hues of Mumbai Indians’ blue and gold, Jaising has designed the jersey that will “stand as a symbol of steadfast dedication and allegiance”. Inspired by initialism, the design is derived by using the initial M placed in a grid format on an art deco pattern with a play of thin and thick lines in shades of royal blue reflecting a geometry that’s precise and clean. While royal blue signifies confidence and strength, Jaising has used imperial blue to exude empathy and dependability – all emotions that stand true for the Mumbai Indians and its fans. Marrying this with a dash of gold, to harness energy and power from the sun, through a racing graphic along the sides of the jersey that is meant to emphasise the powerful torso of the champion player.
Jaising said, “The spirit of Mumbai & MI has always been a force to be reckoned with, and it lies in the relentless energy, diversity, undying optimism, the heart and the hard work that drives its favourite team and fans. It is this very essence that I have tried to capture in the design, inspiring both players and fans, knowing that they carry with them the heart of Mumbai and Mumbai Indians.”
The MI Paltan, Mumbai Indians’ fan army, will have the chance to cheer for their team from their fortress: The Wankhede Stadium. Coinciding with the launch of the jersey, MI has launched its membership packages, across multiple tiers for fans across all age groups. Memberships range from Rs 2199 for Gold, Rs 699 for Silver and Rs 699 for the Junior package. Members will get early access to home match tickets, special discounts on exclusive merchandise, access to events, and special content from the MI family.
The tickets for the fans have gone live now. Mumbai Indians will play their first home game on April 01.
