FORMULA 1 STAGED a record-breaking drone show above Port Hercule in Monaco, featuring 3,050 drones stretching 600ft high and 800ft wide, as part of the opening celebrations for the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2026.
The 10-minute aerial display recreated the Monaco cityscape, the street circuit, the Monaco Grand Prix trophy, all 10 F1 team identities, and culminated in the announcement of a 10-year extension of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix through 2037. The show also highlighted Formula 1’s extension in Monaco through 2035.
The opening party was hosted aboard Explora Journeys’ EXPLORA I, docked in Port Hercule, with an international VIP guest list from sport, music, and fashion.
DJ Bob Sinclar headlined the evening’s entertainment, with Naomi Campbell making a special appearance behind the decks. Throughout the Grand Prix weekend, EXPLORA I remains the only ship docked in Port Hercule, offering guests race views, shore experiences, and exclusive events.
