Asian Tour, DP World Tour, PGA Tour extend strategic partnership through 2029

THE ASIAN TOUR, DP World Tour and PGA TOUR have announced a new multi-year strategic partnership that will run until at least the end of the 2029 season, reinforcing collaboration between three of the world’s leading professional golf tours.

The agreement aims to strengthen the global golf ecosystem by expanding playing opportunities, aligning pathways for athletes and supporting the long-term commercial growth of the sport.

The renewed partnership builds on an existing framework of cooperation among the three tours and is designed to create a more integrated global structure for professional golf. Through the agreement, players on the Asian Tour will continue to benefit from clearly defined pathways to compete on the DP World Tour and, ultimately, the PGA TOUR, creating greater opportunities for emerging talent from Asia to progress to the highest levels of the sport.

A key component of the partnership remains the continued sanctioning and support of the International Series, the Asian Tour’s premium tournament platform. Since its launch in 2022 with investment from LIV Golf Investments, the International Series has significantly increased prize purses and elevated the profile of professional golf across Asia, attracting leading international players and expanding the region’s tournament calendar.

Under the renewed arrangement, the three organisations will continue collaborating on scheduling, tournament development and player progression. The partnership is expected to provide greater certainty for players by maintaining structured qualification routes while helping tournament organisers attract stronger fields and enhance commercial value.

Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner and CEO of the Asian Tour, said the agreement represents a major milestone for golf in Asia, providing long-term stability and creating more opportunities for players to compete on the global stage. He noted that continued collaboration with the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR would strengthen the Asian Tour’s position as a key pathway for elite golfers.

DP World Tour Chief Executive Guy Kinnings said the partnership reflects the organisations’ shared commitment to growing the game internationally. He added that Asia remains one of golf’s most strategically important markets and that continued collaboration would benefit players, tournaments, commercial partners and fans alike.

PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan described the agreement as an important step in advancing a more connected global golf ecosystem. He said the partnership would continue to support player development while contributing to the long-term growth of professional golf worldwide.

The renewed alliance comes at a significant time for men’s professional golf, which continues to evolve amid the emergence of LIV Golf and ongoing discussions around the future structure of the global game. While competition among different circuits has reshaped the professional landscape, the partnership between the PGA TOUR, DP World Tour and Asian Tour demonstrates a continued commitment to collaborative growth and player mobility.

From a commercial perspective, the agreement provides greater certainty for sponsors, broadcasters and tournament promoters by ensuring continuity across three of the sport’s most influential tours. Asia has become an increasingly important market for golf, driven by rising participation, expanding corporate investment and growing television audiences, making long-term collaboration critical to unlocking new commercial opportunities.
