MUMBAI: Dream Sports-owned FanCode, which holds the India terrritory media rights – streaming and broadcast – of Cricket West Indies (CWI) till 2024, has part sublicensed digital rights for the upcoming India vs West Indies series to Reliance-controlled Viacom18.
As was done for the just concluded 2023 edition of the TATA Indian Premier League, the media conglomerate will be streaming the series for free on JioCinema.
Additionally, FanCode is also working on securing a deal with national broadcaster Prasar Bharati for the linear rights. If, as expected, agreement is reached, DD Sports will broadcast the games, extending the partnership that was signed between the two parties last year.
“We are currently exploring various arrangements for the series. While the matches will be available on FanCode, we may also distribute the content to a few other platforms, both linear and digital,” stated a Dream Sports representative on the matter.
