Mastercard BCCI lead rights holder after Paytm opts out

MUMBAI: Paytm – the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s title sponsor for international cricket at home – has opted out of the deal that runs till March 31, 2023.

The fintech company has reportedly transferred the rights to Mastercard. 

As per Hindustan Times, the tripartite deal is similar to how BYJU’S took over BCCI jersey rights from Oppo.

“Mastercard will be coming on board on the same terms,” HT quotes a BCCI official as having said. 

Paytm had committed Rs 326.8 crore for the four-year cycle that commenced October 2019, which translates to Rs 3.8 crores per match.

As for BCCI’a jersey sponsors BYJU’S – the Indian edtech major recently extended its contract till 2023.
