MUMBAI: The National Basketball Association (NBA) and ACG, the world’s only integrated pharma manufacturing solutions company, Wednesday announced the return of ACG-NBA Jump, India’s first national basketball scouting program that provides aspiring basketball players from across the country with a platform to compete alongside one another, showcase their skills and receive additional basketball development opportunities.
The 2022 edition of ACG-NBA Jump – which will mark the first time the program has been held since 2020 – will tip off Saturday, May 21 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi and visit five cities across India: Delhi (May 21), Kottayam (May 22), Ludhiana (May 27), Mumbai (May 29) and Kolkata (June 4).
The top players from the five events will be invited to the culminating ACG-NBA Jump National Finals on July 2 and 3 at NBA Academy India, an elite basketball training center for the top prospects from throughout the country. Select players will then receive full scholarships to attend NBA Academy India.
“The ACG-NBA Jump program has been instrumental in identifying aspiring players from across country and giving them the resources to maximize their potential,” said NBA Academy India technical director Scott Flemming. “We’re pleased that the program is returning this year and look forward to working with ACG to continue developing top Indian players and preparing them for the next levels of competition.”
“I’m excited to see the return of the ACG-NBA Jump program after a two-year break due to the pandemic,” said ACG managing director Karan Singh. “It is great to be back on the ground alongside the NBA to build the local basketball ecosystem and talent pathway for India’s best basketball players. At ACG, we have always been passionate about basketball and we will continue to be committed to sustainably developing the sport.”
