Delhi Capitals under quarantine after player tests Covid+ve: Reports

MUMBAI: The Delhi Capitals team has been put under quarantine in the wake of a franchise player reportedly testing positive for COVID-19. The team’s physio Patrick Farhart had earlier been isolated after testing positive.

The development has forced the cancellation of the team’s scheduled travel to Pune Monday, ahead of their next IPL 2022 fixture against Punjab Kings on Wednesday.

As a precautionary measure, the players will be quarantined in their rooms with door-to-door COVID-19 tests scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Sportstar reports.

As per Cricbuzz, the as yet unnamed player has tested positive on the Rapid Antigen Test and will undergo further RT-PCR tests to confirm the results.

Depending on how things pan out, the BCCI will take a call on Wednesday’s fixture, the reports aver.
