MUMBAI: Alexa, the popular virtual assistant technology used in Amazon’s Echo range of smart speakers will be providing live commentary of all English Premier League matches in India by enabling its skill on command, Economic Times reports.
This has been made possible as Amazon India has entered into a new partnership with Sports Flashes, the Indian online radio channel that specializes in broadcasting sports content. The company was named by UK’s radio station, talkSPORT as the official audio partner of the world’s top football league in India till 2022.
Launching its service on Alexa, Sports Flashes has ensured that the skill can be accessed on not just Amazon Echo smart speakers but the Alexa app as well.
“We are committed to deliver world class sports content to Indian fans and are now proud audio broadcast partners of EPL in India. This season, for the first time, Indian fans would be able to have access to Live broadcast for all 380 matches of EPL,” Raman Raheja, founder of Sports Flashes was quoted as saying to ET.
Dilip RS, country manager for Alexa Skills, Amazon India said: “Sports is a highly engaging use case for our customers, and what can be simpler than getting access to your favorite live games, via simple voice commands. We are happy to have Sports Flashes on board to offer live commentary and match updates from the English Premier league. Stay tuned for more updates.”
