THE ANDHRA PRADESH Premier League Season 5 is making an effort to provide a wider reach with three venues hosting the matches. Season 5 will be held across three venues at Visakhapatnam (June 9 to 14), Kadapa (June 17 to 21) and Mangalagiri (June 24 to 30).
The Kadapa stadium has been upgraded to international standards, while the ACA stadium in Mangalagiri received a Rs 50 crore renovation. The league is positioned as a platform for rural athletes, with the broader aim of elevating local players to national competitions, including the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and IPL.
“Significant funds have been allocated to improve stadium infrastructure; the Kadapa stadium is now fully equipped to host international matches, and the ACA stadium in Mangalagiri received a renovation investment of INR 50 crore to meet high standards,” APL GC chairman, Sujaya Krishna Rangarao, said.
The opening match is between Simhadri Visakhapatnam Lions take on Kakinada Kings, with Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu as chief guest at the ceremony.
