START TIMES FOR THE three evening T20Is between India and England have been brought forward from 6.30 pm to 5.30 pm local time (10 pm IST) following discussions with broadcasters Sky Sports and Sony Sports Network. India’s men will tour England for eight white-ball games from July 1-19, comprising five T20Is and three ODIs.
A report in ESPNcricinfo said that the change reflects English cricket’s dependence on high-value broadcast series. The ECB’s recently published financial report projects a profit this year due to India’s tour but anticipates a loss in 2027 despite hosting a men’s Ashes series against Australia, the report said.
All three ODIs have sold out, with only a few hundred tickets remaining across the five T20Is. India also plays two T20Is against Ireland in Belfast on June 26 and 28 ahead of the England tour, with both matches already sold out at the Civil Service ground at Stormont, with a capacity of around 4,500, the report said.
