THE INDIAN ARMY hosted the Army Sports Conclave 2025 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing athletes and supporting India’s ambition under Olympic Mission 2036.
Director General Integrated Training Lt Gen Ajay Ramdev, opened the event with a welcome address that framed the Conclave as a space where “purpose meets passion” in India’s sporting progress. He praised the Mission Olympic Wing and para-athletes, highlighting the growing emphasis on scientific, data-backed and psychologically robust training methodologies within the Army’s sporting ecosystem.
The Conclave centred around two core themes, ‘Institutional Synergy’ and ‘Athlete 360’, reflecting the need for coordinated efforts across stakeholders and a holistic approach to athlete development. Conversations explored aligning national sport policies, institutional systems and emerging technologies to enable sustained Olympic excellence.
A dedicated fireside chat brought together senior defence leaders, elite athletes and sports administrators for a thought-provoking exchange on India’s high-performance roadmap. Participants stressed the importance of deeper collaboration between the armed forces, national sports bodies and the private sector to build a high-performance sporting environment.
The event also reaffirmed the Army’s alignment with the Army Roadmap 2032, the National Sports Development Bill and Khel Niti 2025, collectively signalling a major step towards elevating India’s sporting infrastructure and talent pipeline for the decade ahead.
