PKL S12 with expanded format delivers most competitive season

PRO KABADDI LEAGUE (PKL) Season 12 will be remembered as the most tightly contested edition to date, with thrilling comebacks, razor-thin scorelines and matches decided right down to the final raid. The season reflected a new benchmark in tactical discipline and physical intensity, delivering unpredictable contests throughout, per a media release.

Amid this highly competitive field, Dabang Delhi K.C. emerged triumphant with a composed and determined campaign. In a pulsating final at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, they edged Puneri Paltan 31–28 to secure their second PKL title becoming the first team since U Mumba in Season 2 to lift the trophy on home soil.

Playoff qualification battles were fierce under the expanded format. Patna Pirates surged from 12th to 7th on the final day, while Bengaluru Bulls bounced back from three opening defeats to finish third. Telugu Titans also enjoyed a breakthrough season, returning to the playoffs for the first time since Season 4.

Of the 117 matches, 53 (45%) were decided by five points or fewer, with 14 games going down to tiebreakers or last-minute finishes, making this the closest season in PKL history and keeping fans gripped until the final whistle.

Season highlights included:
