ROME: Serie A giants AS Roma has announced that it will collaborate exclusively this season with the well-renowned company Warner Bros. Entertainment, which is the chief distributor of the film ‘Venom’ produced by Sony Pictures Films. Roma stars such as Daniele De Rossi, Kostas Manolas, Justin Kluivert and Antonio Mirante are infected by Marvel Venom in a new promo, the first example of the partnership. Veteran player Francesco Totti also stars in a cameo role in the film.
Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer and will be out in theatres on 4 October. In the film, In the film, journalist Eddie Brock, played by Oscar-nominated actor Tom Hardy, becomes infected by a symbiotic alien organism which takes control of him and turns him into Venom. The advert focuses on one of the key themes of the movie: the struggle between the uncontrollable power of the alien symbiote and the protagonist’s desire to rein it in. Totti’s cameo closes out the advert, announcing that the moment of truth has finally arrived.
This is the first instance of football and international cinema going beyond the usual realm of business partnerships. There will be many events and initiatives conducted for the film’s promotions featuring the players.
