DUBAI: As per the latest ICC ODI rankings, world champions Australia have slipped to the sixth position, which is their lowest ever in 34 years, according to cricket.com.au. Australia’s defeats in the first two ODIs to England in their 5-match series means that they need a win out of their three remaining games to ensure that they climb back to the fifth spot, which is occupied by 2017 Champions Trophy winners, Pakistan at present.
Australia have lost 13 out of their last 15 ODIs, winning their last bilateral series against Pakistan at home in January 2017. Their overseas form is all the more a concern, with the World Cup being less than 12 months away and in England as well.
