PUNE: Marathon enthusiasts from around the country congregated in the city to run in the maiden edition of the Bajaj Allianz Pune Half Marathon (PHM) on Sunday, which saw participation from over 16,000 people from various walks of life, Press Trust of India reports.
The participants ran across three race categories: Half Marathon (21 km), 10 km Run and Family Run (6 km). A total of Rs 2.15 million was distributed as prize money across categories.
Indian cricket star Kedar Jadhav, Maharashtra minister of FDA Girish Bapat and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance MD and CEO Tarun Chugh were some of the dignitaries who flagged off some of the events of the day.
