Bajaj Pune Marathon returns for 6th edition with sprint icons Lyles, Fraser-Pryce

BAJAJ PUNE MARATHON, an initiative by Bajaj Finserv Ltd, returns for its sixth edition on 14 December, promising to be bigger, more inclusive, and more inspiring than ever. This year’s event will unite thousands of runners from elite international athletes to everyday fitness enthusiasts and corporate leaders under the unifying belief, ‘You Too Can Fly’.

Leading this celebration of aspiration and resilience are two of the most decorated names in world athletics: Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and American 100-metre champion Noah Lyles. As ambassadors for the marathon, both athletes embody excellence, perseverance, and the transformative power of sport.

Since its inception in 2018, the Bajaj Pune Marathon has grown in scale and stature. What began as a Half Marathon (21.1 km) has now evolved into a Full Marathon (42.2 km) event. The 2025 edition will feature multiple race categories, including the Full Marathon (42.2 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), 10 km run, and 5 km timed race.

Bajaj Finserv chairman and managing director Sanjiv Bajaj said, “Our vision is to give wings to every Indian’s aspiration. The theme of the Bajaj Pune marathon, ‘You too can Fly’, embodies this spirit of limitless possibility. This year’s marathon, with Noah Lyles and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as race ambassadors, celebrates not only endurance and fitness but also India’s collective resolve to rise higher.”

Fraser-Pryce expressed, “Every finish line opens the door to new possibilities. The Bajaj Pune Marathon reflects that same spirit, bringing people together through purpose, fitness, and belief in what’s possible. I’m honored to join as an ambassador and to celebrate the runners who remind us that we all have the power to rise, to push, and to fly.”

Lyles added, “I’m really excited to be the honorary starter for the Bajaj Pune Marathon. India has been on my list of places to visit for a long time. A big portion of my fan base comes from India, so I have been wanting to give back the love they show me. Can’t wait to see everyone at one of India’s most prestigious marathons.”
