BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA (BCCI) has awarded Laqshya Media Group the mandate to manage the opening and closing ceremonies, mid-innings entertainment and fan engagement initiatives for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026.
Under the agreement, Laqshya will design and deliver the full in-stadium spectator experience across all 22 matches of the tournament. This will include ceremonial programming, live performances, technology-driven activations and large-scale fan engagement initiatives. The upcoming edition of the Tata WPL carries special significance as it will be the first major domestic women’s tournament following India’s triumph at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
Laqshya Media Group plans to weave this success story into the tournament narrative, creating a vibrant, high-energy stadium atmosphere that celebrates Indian women’s cricket while deepening fans’ connection with the players and the league. The competition will open with a star-studded ceremony featuring rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, actress Jacqueline Fernandez and Harnaaz Sandhu.
Beyond the ceremonies, Laqshya Media Group will introduce a high engagement model across every WPL 2026 match. Key elements include live mid-innings performances by renowned artists, synchronized drone shows, laser displays, and large-format visual experiences. Traditional elements such as live brass bands and on-ground fan activations will also be incorporated to blend local sporting culture with global entertainment formats.
