MUMBAI: With no live cricket match being played, Star Sports Network had earlier announced the telecast of some of the iconic matches from the past including the semi-final and the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup and some old matches of the Indian Premier League.
Following on from that, national broadcaster Doordarshan’s sports channel DD Sports, in association with BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), will be televising some of India’s matches from decades gone by.
The development regarding the telecast of old cricket matches was made public by the BCCI via its official Twitter handle.
Starting from April 7 (Tuesday), DD Sports will telecast 20 matches across formats from South Africa’s tour of India 2000, Australia’s tour of India 2001, West Indies’ tour of India 2002, TVS Cup 2003 and Sri Lanka’s tour of India 2005 till April 14 (last day of lockdown as of now).
