MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Sumday unveiled Team India’s new jersey for both its men’s and women’s teams ahead of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
The Men in Blue will also don the same jersey during the World Cup lead-up T20I home clashes against Australia and South Africa.
The new jersey has been designed with a theme – One Blue Jersey – that symbolises equality among both men’s and women’s cricket players in the country.
As compared to team India’s jersey during the Asia Cup 2022, the new kit has a lighter shade of blue and has drawn similarities to the one Team India wore at the 2007 T20 World Cup, which the Boys in Blue won.
This is the third Indian jersey in as many years since MPL Sports took over as the kit sponsor in 2020.
