BIC to host intl riders at Asia Cup of Road Racing

NEW DELHI: Top riders from Japan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Nepal, Taiwan and India will participate in the FIM Asia Cup of Road Racing, which has been added to the 20th JK Tyre national racing championship this time round.

The addition of Round 3 of the FIM ACCR to the grand finale at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida this weekend was announced on Thursday. India will be represented by Sai Rahil Pillarisetty and Israel Vanlalhruaizela, fourth in the standings after the first two rounds in Thailand and Taiwan.

The Asia Cup brings some of the best young riders from the continent to compete in national team competition with FIM-affiliated organisations nominating their participants. “We are delighted to be hosting the third round of the ARRC. It is an important event on the FIM calendar, and will add value to the finale,” JK Motorsports president Sanjay Sharma said.

The motorcycles, along with a team of factory mechanics, are supplied by the sponsoring manufacturer. Each team fields two riders and is awarded one point for a win, two for a second-place finish and so on. The JK National Racing Championship finale meanwhile will see battles for titles in the Euro JK 17, LGB Formula 4 and the Suzuki Gixxer Cup classes.
