Brooklyn Nets mark ‘India Day’ with some Bollywood moves

NEW YORK: On Sunday, April 1, the Brooklyn Nets celebrated “India Day” when they hosted the Detroit Pistons at Barclays Center at 6 pm local time.

The evening, managed by events firm ExcelIndia, included elements that celebrate “Indian heritage and culture” (read shout outs to contemporary Hindi film music and dance).

The action tipped off at noon with a pre-game Bollywood dance competition. The top two teams in the competition performed again later in the day, with the first place team performing at halftime, and the second place team performing thirty minutes prior to tip-off.

During the game, the “Brooklynettes” performed a Bollywood themed dance routine that was choreographed by Chandni Navodita, a Hindi film actress of the 90’s era turned Bollywood dance choreographer.
