KUALA LUMPUR: BWF has partnered with Stay22, the map-based solution that aims to revolutionise event travel.
This aligns with the badminton world body’s mission to help fans find accommodation options near tournament venues.
Stay22 is BWF’s first Official Travel Solutions Partner.
BWF secretary general Thomas Lund said: “We see tremendous value in partnering with Stay22. Its location-based maps will help enhance the fan experience when it comes to travelling and staying near events.
“Their location-centric mapping system makes it easy for sport enthusiasts to easily search and book any type of accommodation or travel services near our events or venues.”
With over 700 million fans worldwide, the Stay22 maps will be useful to help fans and athletes travel better.
The Stay22 technology is currently available in over 50 countries and offers more than 35 million bookable listings to choose from. Travellers can search and book the best accommodation suiting their needs and budget.
“Stay22 shares a similar vision as BWF: creating a great customer-centric approach to better serve sports fans,” said Frederic Aouad, Sales director of Stay22.
“Our team has committed on delivering the best travel experience possible when athletes and fans will be looking for accommodations and travel services worldwide.”
Badminton has over 573 million fans in Asia and has consistently ranked among the top-three sports across many major markets on the continent. This partnership further accentuates Stay22’s desire to expand in the Asia-Pacific market.
This service is available for all HSBC BWF World Tour events, plus Major Championships including this year’s TOTAL BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2020.
