LONDON: English Premier League club Chelsea FC have reportedly struck a 5-year sleeve sponsorship deal with South Korean auto major Hyundai.
According to UK’s The Times, this is the most expensive sleeve deal in the history of English club football, as it is double the value of Manchester City’s similar deal with Nexen Tire, which is also a South Korean company.
Arsenal and Manchester United are yet to confirm their sponsors for the same as negotiations are on-going.
Hyundai has replaced Alliance Tyres, the subsidiary firm of Chelsea’ s jersey sponsors, Yokohama Tyres which had a one-year deal with the club.
This is said to the first top sponsorship deal Chelsea has signed under Chris Townsend, its commercial director who joined the club in 2017 from Broadband Delivery UK.
