CPL’s ‘Step Into The Party’ Challenge unites fans to walk 179m steps

CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE (CPL) has announced the success of its “Step Into The Party” Challenge, a virtual fitness campaign that encouraged fans across the Caribbean and beyond to get active in the name of wellness, unity, and fun.

Throughout the campaign, participants collectively logged an astonishing 179 million steps, that is the equivalent of more than 80,000 miles walked, or circling the globe over three times. Fans of the Guyana Amazon Warriors led the charge with an impressive 53 million steps. While the team narrowly missed lifting the CPL trophy on the field, their supporters emerged as champions in the fan step challenge.

Top-performing participants are set to receive prizes from CPL’s tourism partners across the region, with winners to be contacted directly.

Launched earlier this season, the “Step Into The Party” Challenge invited fans to embark on a virtual fitness journey, competing both individually and collectively to stay active throughout the 2025 CPL season.

CPL CEO Pete Russell said, “This challenge has always been about more than fitness. It’s about uniting communities, celebrating our culture, and stepping forward together for a meaningful cause. Health and wellness remain central to the CPL, and seeing our fans embrace this journey with such passion has been truly inspiring. Encouraging sustainable, accessible ways for everyone to stay active is at the heart of our Health and Wellness initiative, and this challenge has shown how powerful that message can be when we take it on together. The Republic Bank CPL thanks all participants, partners, and supporters who made this initiative a success. Together, we proved that when Caribbean fans step up, we step forward as one community.”
